A valve rated for 150 psi won't explode at 151 psi, while exceeding pressure ratings is not recommended there is a certain safety factor which some people choose to slim down, people have used typical QEVs to 500 psi and beyond without failure to my knowledge.Butch902 wrote:isn't the max psi rating for a 3/4'' QEV 150- 175max?
Of course though failure is not the only risk, even if it doesn't blow up you will be increasing wear and tear on the piston/diaphragm.
