I havent built anything in a while. I was going through all my old stuff the other day, throwing out my old ball valve launchers or failed guns I dont feel like working on after ripping out the useful parts. I came across a sprinkler valve thats modded, a 2 foot 2 inch chamber, and a golf ball barrel. My idea was to add a detent mag and a popoff the the end of the blowgun. So basically when I squeeze the blow gun, the pop off triggers the sprinkler valve. So Id have a golfball machine gun with a trigger feel. Would this work?

I theory it would, although I could see the diaphram wearing out sooner than later. I remember thinking about this when Psychix showed off his QEV popoff tests.

Thanks, yeah, honestly I doubt I will fire it enough to wear out the diaphram and if it does get worn out, Ill replace it.

Now how are you going to get the mag to cycle? Is it going to be a giant golf ball cloud with a detent or a dedicated magazine? I'm just a little unclear.

You might need a small QEV to succesfully pilot the 2" valve, or maybe it will work just like this.

But if you want any kind of power you will need a HUGE supply of air.
The time it will take to recharge your giant reservoir will eventually put you off when it comes to firing it regularly.

Valvewise you'll be able to get it done, but as Gaderelguitarist said...have you thought about how you will feed the ammo?

Golfballs take up a lot of space...so most likely you'll end up with something under 20 balls per filling.

It can be done but you'll have yourself a project..

Thanks, for now I have a 4 gallon compressor, the valves 1 inch so I should be a able to pilot it. The mag will be a basic tmag with a detent. The gun will be stationary so Im thinking a 3 foot mag. Im considering switching to racket balls and a smaller chamber. Sorry my post was unclear.

if you get the valve working correctly the feeding is going to the the next problem. with my golfball semi/full/ auto gun i had lots of trouble with the golf balls being ejected from the top of the mag.

oh and btw i was using a BFB

Yeah I was wondering about that, I made a jaw breaker semi and it has a little of that problem but with a threaded lid it should be ok, Ill add a bumper at the top just in case. BTW, do you have any vids of your GB gun going full auto.

my rof was not limited by the compressor it self, it was limited by the filling of the gun. depending on where i was shooting i was using either a 6 gallon compressor or a 8 gallon tank filled to 300psi that was on a 3/8inch regulator.

i also was not running at 150psi. i typicly ran at about 80psi and was still breaking things, and not just the targets

Thanks, this will have a 60 or 70 psi popoff, running from the 4 gallon compressor filled to 125.
