First Finished QEV gun
This is my first gun upload to spudfiles but about my tenth prototype for ideas on a airgun. I put it together recently and decided to finish it. It took about a year and a half to get to this point.
PARTS: All the parts on the gun are made from high quality stainless steel fittings rated at 3000PSI. and a few brass fittings. The stock is made from stained pine.
BARREL: 6.5mm inside diameter full stainless steel barrel, 520mm long.
VALVE: 1/4" QEV (ebay)
PILOT: 1/4" blowgun, unmodified but had bottom cut off it.
TANK: 3/4" stainless tubing, about 200mm long.
SCOPE: Tasco 4x20. mounted on homemade rail.
FILL VALVE: Pilot side, 1/4" female quick connect coupler.
NORMAL OPERATING PRESSURE: around 200psi
Thanks to everyone here who helped with answering my questions about the valves, methods etc.
If anyone has any questions about the gun or suggestions feel free to ask.
cheers.

Really nice!! Stock looks great and so do the internals. Are those compression fittings on the SS?

Very nice, but I have a question: what's stopping you at 200 PSI?
Another question: how much did all the stainless and compression fittings cost you? You don't have to say if you don't want to, but maybe, say, relative to copper tubing and fittings of the same size?
Nice job again. Can't wait to see more of you (or even some of those prototypes you've mentioned).
EDIT: nevermind on the price, I have quit being a n00b and have checked McMaster.

thanks
yeh compression fittings. all the stainless fittings i got off my uncle who got them from the gas works at a mine site so are really good quality
and im limited to 230 psi due to a bike pump. but i might be getting a air compressor soon.

Who has two thumbs and is very impressed by your build.....this guy.
The perforated metal adds a really nice touch to the finished gun.
You could have perhaps made the grip a little less bulky. It looks like your thumb would interfere with the fill valve.

very nice, the thing you have around the chamber looks mad.
shame about 200psi, this would be a beast at 500-700

Looking back, I think it might also look nice to have some of that perforated sheet metal on the stock as well. It would serve no purpose other that aesthetics, which is really all you can do at this point, besides increasing your working pressure.
I'll ignore that....for now.bob kelso

Very nice, love the perforated metal especially. Up the pressure and you won't be disappointed, though it will probably be time to start thinking about a suppressor

thanks everyone for the comments
uhm yeh i can comfortably get my thumb under the quick connect but it is a bit tight so i will think about making it thinner now you mention it...
im not sure what else to add to the gun so a suppressor could be a good idea.
ill upload a video when i make one

Hooray for photoshop. That supressor could easily extend back to cover the rest of the barrel and seat overtop of the qev, giving it a factory made feel...i put this together to show you how much better it would look if you used some of the suggestions that have been made
I'm going to stop now, this isn't my project. Jmez, you've done a great job.
