what about 3 bolts going thought a coupling at the end of your barrel and you just adjust them so that the ammo hits dead center of the coin or find a big peace of metal the same thickness as a coin, it would even out the different coins in other countrys.

Just a quick note. At the moment we are having record low temperatures, so I'm not planning any shots in the near future.
I just attempted to put a hole in a US quarter with a deck nail, and missed. Wind gusts are horrible today, but I'm going to try again later with everything clamped down. The head of the nail clipped the quarter as it passed by and caused a small dent, but altogether unimpressive.

I haven't found specs on the coins yet but we do have coins that can remind of stainless steel that I will try later tonight.what type of metal is is made of and how thick?
No, just post your results with picturesAny limitations on ammo?
I will try harder coins, I doubt I cam make it through out "5 NOK" coin.especially if it's a relatively soft metal.
If I get the time to do another shot tonight I will get some pictures of the gun. I think I might have shown it here before though..Any details of the launcher SpudFarm?
If you guys have the time and means (money) you could try different coins so that the next challenge is based on the hardest coin in the US, rules out us European poops though.

I'm sorry to double post but this is adding information.
I tried the coin that I said reminded me of stainless steel, however a more thorough search yield the results that its not much difference in Norwegian coins.
I shot it anyway
To JSR;
The cannon has a 1m long 4mm ID (Meassured with ruler as it's late and I don't have a caliper at handy) brass barrel sleeved in a 4.75mm (Guess as I haven't seen a reason to measure) tube that was the original barrel for pellets.
The sleeve is not fixed in any way so I can quickly change the bore.
The valve consist of a bored out 1/4" brass nipple that the seat pipe (brass) is soldered into, the seat is halfway bored out so that my barrel can fit snugly inside but not go through.
Further down the valve you find a 3/8" Tee-fitting with a 3/8" steel pipe nipple in the end as a housing. This is bored out to so it can fit the piston that is the head from a umbraco screw with a rubber sealing face glued onto the side where the threaded part used to be. I used a file to make it flat after I cut of the threads so that the sealing face would have a surface for attachment.
Then there is the bad pilot that is the famous ball valve, and a slightly modified shock pump for filling.
Side note:
This cannon could be modified to fire semi or full auto, I will not talk more about this before I have done more tests to back it up.
Another side note:
Time - 03:00AM
Me - Tired after sleepeing for two hours the last two days and had to go shopping the entire day with my GF, you all know what it's like so don't complain on my explanation of the gun

Nice, I hadn't seen it before.
I feel your pain, the last time I did that after the first fifteen minutes I wanted to stick my fist down my throat, rip out my trachea and use it to ironically asphyxiate myself.SpudFarm wrote:Tired after sleepeing for two hours the last two days and had to go shopping the entire day with my GF, you all know what it's like

just put my cane gun back together yesterday so i thought i would see what it could do, coin is 1.5mm copper and nail was 2.5mm wide, did kinda cheat because i put an air gun pellet behind the nail but at 400psi it went right up to the head
why make it if it dosent shoot?
