On the other end of the spectrum is my small 3 gallon compressor and the 3 gallon cannon. Since the cannon is the same volume as the compressor a day of shooting involves taking a shot, filling the cannon to 50 PSI which brings the compressor down to 50 psi and then waiting for both to be brought up to 100 PSI by the compressor, then the process is repeated.

3 gallon compressor and 3 gallon cannon topping off in my trunk for the next shot. In the photo it is only back to about 70 PSI.

My small cannon uses much less air per shot so the compressor drops very little per shot.
