My current air cannon is just a mess of brass fittings and it just leaks so much so id though id give something else a go.
I was thinking about creating a cannon like this , i think many of you would have seen it just lurking through youtube
I though pvc would be easier to work with so maybe might try and replicate it.
what are your thoughts?
I would like to replicate this but im inexperienced with sprinkler valves . any ideas on replacing the sprinkler valve for more power? but having the cannon have the same shape/structure or part placement.
sprinkler valve cannon help

iv never solvent welded PVC but can Imagen it being harder than sealing threaded fittings. you probably didn't put the ptfe on in the right direction, it need to go on clockwise

Major Collins, I think you should do it. Take a look at my rifle, first one I made. I started with just a chamber, and a barrel with the modded sprinkey in the middle. It used drilled out shot gun shells filled with bbs and wadding. Then as I got bored with the design, I put on a 1 inch barrel, and made it bolt action, and now its super fun! Pneumatic is worth it if you have an air compressor, but even if you dont, its still worth it.

alright well i went and got myself a sprinkler valve and parts .I took apart the sprinkler valve and had a look around inside and the diaphragm has a hole right in the center and on the the outside knob on a small steel pole right down the middle.
Is this a flow control ?
do i need to epoxy the hole in the diaphragm?

Thats no the kind typically used for modding. Its possible to mod it, I forget who has done it though. You do not want a jar top valve.
That is all.

I've modded them before but they are a pain in the butt. Inlines are way easier.

for the record what else do you have to do to get them to work?
(with a modded blowgun obviously)

You have to drill through to the side of the top because of the guide rod, which is harder. I don't remember exacty what I did to mod it because it was a while back, I just remember inlines being much easier.

on mine the knob and rod can be fully unscrewed and it just leaves a small hole that would need to be drilled out larger for a hose barb , so its just like a small pilot hole for drill piece but there is still a small hole in the diaphragm
also anyone know a good way of making pvc air chambers ? either 40 mm or 50 mm
all i can fine is the pvc pipe and dwv push on caps
