Many people use mapp gas. From what I've heard it's similar to propane.

yeah but isnt it more dangerous?ive seen a cannon on here or spudtech that uses mapp gas i forgot which one though

It's not more dangerous, at not for all I know.

You should use the amount that fires a spud the farthest. No really, you can just use trial and error. Or you could set up a metering system. I've heard someone mention the right percent needed.

Make sure it is sturdy first, if its just a combustion spudgun you should be fine if it is made out of abs. What are you waitin for anyway, go take it for a shot and tell us how it went. When you say a beginner - have you shot one before?

naw he made it, i saw him use mapp gass (yellow canister) with a barrell stuffed full of paper towels,, he was filling it for about id say 17 seconds and it was a bang

i think the only real diference is that mapp gas burns hotter that propane but i dont think it will make much difference unless you mixing it with air/oxigen
