As the title says, i picked up about 15 fire extinguisher tanks, and am just wondering if anyone wants to buy one, or a few.

They are a variety of sizes, some of them are still in hydro.
Hydro pressure tests range from 240psi to 750psi.

Valves are not included, but some of the tanks have 3/4'' NPT

If anyone is interested, a few bucks plus shipping, and ill send you one.
We can make the transaction over ebay, to make it easy.

If you come down on the price i might buy one, or just find a propane tank and use that

Many new ones for $15-$20 US.

Here due to the cost of having a pressure vessel hydrostaticly tested, out of date extinguishers are often replaced instead of re-tested. The tanks here are considered scrap metal. I can pick them up for scrap prices from the local refiller. I presume you got a good deal on the bone pile. Many fire extinguisher service places. re-use the powder as it has been stored dry and is fine for re-use in a more expensive extinguisher.

Not out of date one's, just go to a fire depo and ask if they have any old ones they want to get rid of, If they ask why you need them say your making a super power water gun that runs at 50-100psi or someshit for a science project.

So i can go to the fire depo (assuming this as the supplier) and ask for an old extinguisher, are you sure that's ok to do or will the manager cut me neck off if i suggest it is for a water gun????

Just making sure but where else can i get one with 3/4 threads???

Thats how i got one. I asked a fireman near a truck he asked me why and I said it was for a school project, they had a few in a bin at the back, worst case you don't get one.

Doubt you will find one hear with 3/4'' threads all the one's iv had are just a tiny bit bigger then 1/2'' thread so i epoxy a pipe nipple in there its held 750psi over night, just be sure to cover the hole inside with a anti rust paint.

Not the disposable ones. They do not have a valve screwed in it.

I asked at my local fire depo, they told me they sent all the tanks they received to "company X"

Company X, when asked if i could have a few, responded with "Do you have a big truck?" I can fit about 100 of them in the bed of my Chevy S-10

There is about 400-500 there that i can have. I'm really only looking to cover shipping cost, and my gas/time expense.

If anyone wants one, or more, just pay shipping, and a few bucks for my time and gas.

EDIT: first post edited to state i only need enough $$ to cover shipping, and my expense. $5-$10 (plus shipping)

Also, i MAY be able to get some 1/8'' NPT gauges and valves from there as well, but it looks like the valves have had the stems removed...?
