Help in modifying brass 2" sprinkler valve

Has anyone had any experience in modifying a brass sprinkler valve. Here is a link to the store.

I am guessing it will be similar to modifying a plastic valve but want to make sure as this would be an expensive mistake.

If you are willing to spend that much money, I think a better investment would be an ASCO 8353 Series with an air actuated pilot.

These are pulse valves. A few years back, myself and others on the forum purchased some for a reasonable price of about $18.

holy crap, that alot of moula!!!!!, just go with the hardened plastic ones alot cheaper, and easier to tap, but if you go the money, its on you

I'm looking at the one dewey mentioned, would be a lot easier. Just wish it was in-line but o well, can't be picky. The tech guy told me that is was a 5 psi minimum and would not work. Said had to be 5psi to close valve after firing, pretty sure he is wrong.

Anyone have experience in piston valves like this? 53cv for $85. Looks like it has a 1/8" npt valve to open chamber.

As mentioned above a QEV would be better and more cost effective than a metal sprinkler.

But if you really want an inline valve...I happen to have a 2" plastic sprinkler valve laying around from an old golfball launcher that I need to sell
