Oh. Now that you've reframed it, seems a little less dramatic in my head now. But the result is none the less impressive, great job :)

edit: I take that back, HOT! :D

my phones camera makes it look even hotter, in real life the blade was bright yellow (1200-1250c) the pic makes it look like white (over 1300c)

i didnt even burn myself alot, just a little smell of burning flesh few times :D

Nice pics

I found this blade;

It's 20 euros. 59-60 hrc. (carbon steel)

here's the link
I don't like the grind however. It's a convex grind, and it seems to have a double bevel.

I would love to purchase one of your blades, but it needs some thinking. It's quite a lot of money for me

also made a handle:

I used an olive from a compression fitting as a sleeve, to prevent splitting. At the front you can see the piece of metal I want to use as a spacer. It's a piece of iron sandwiched between to copper plates. Just an experiment, turned out pretty well.
I have nothing to do ATM, so i'll probably make a few more.

well, its your choice :) the things iv heard from bruslettos blades, well, they are mass produktion blades, someone thinks they are good, someone thinks they are not. and at only 3mm thick its not a great chopper :? but you do as you want, no hard feelings

EDIT: how did you sandwitch it?

still machining JSR?

I'll probably end up buying one of yours, seems more quality to me.
It's also very nice to have a custom blade.

I also think the brusletto blad is ugly, machine produced look.

Edit:

I had a small piece of copper tube. I cut it open, and hammered it flat.
Cut it in two, and cleaned them. Then put a piece of machine steel
(Fe-360) in between. I added flux, and just soldered together.

The end product doesn't look perfect, as the copper plates were a bit bumpy, and I didn't have the right flux. The flux I used turns black and messy when it becomes too hot, thus making the end product uglier.
