Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

Since MAPP (methyl acetylene propadeine / propane) burns hotter, shouldn't the air get hotter making a larger volume of exhaust gas to expell the spud?

Also, someone mentioned using oxygen. I thought that was a big no-no. Oh well, at least use Sch 80, and prefferablly also a remote ignitor.

Matthouse, how the hell does a Civic battery have anything to do with a remote ignitor system? If you used that battery with an ignition coil, and a switch with a 50' cord, then yes...

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

A really long stick... :P  Nah I used to make remote ignitors for all sorts a stuff out of small rc cars. All you need is a cheap rc car or whatever and those model rocket ignitors/fuses, they a wires in the shape of a v with the apex covered in flammable stuff, they just act like an electrical fuse. Just remove the electric motor from the car and connect both wire ends to the fuse or whatever their called. Push the throttle foward on the remote and it should light up. Its really cheap and fairly reliable.

Using a camera flash and ignition coil, or a stungun, would easily allow you to run a 50' or longer cable (use speakerwire, the trigger circut is very low voltage and speaker wire is cheap) to your detonator button.

McCrowley, I know it's all in good fun, but I don't think talking about SMS detonator circuts is a very good idea.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.
