wow im just finding this post know... what about a aeg pistol? I've seen cheapo models in the states for $40. You would get a nice grip too. Im just wondering if that would be over kill though as it is just functioning as a hammer lol.

No problem, feel free to share your idea anytime
A AEG pistol is a little overkill to be used as hammer, I have thought about it. Have in consideration of the price, even through it would come with a already made electronic selection fire. Specially here where I live is extremely strict about realistic bb guns, buy it from ebay it's impossible, buy one from store will cost me 87euro, too much to dismount it.

How about you go about this differently and only use the solenoid as a release mechanism for a more classic spring powered hammer using blow back to re-cock ?

I live in Portugal, practically the worst place a spuder can be.
I spent last night thinking about using air to blow back a spring hammer, for this valve is very easy, I only have to drill a port in the back of the valve stem. But can't give me selection fire, witch is my main goal of this project, only full auto, as I can't figure out a trigger mechanism for semi auto.

-No-

thailand is the worst :D

personally, I think the blowback thing would defeat the purpose of the valve you have created. What happened to the solenoid that you said you ordered? did it work?

The problem is that solenoid isn´t working as good as I hoped, the metal core of the solenoid only alows 2 cm of travel distance, the valve needs at least 1.5cm lifting only 0.5 cm for the hammer to accelerate before hit the valve :( right now I my try to make a longer core for the solenoid

Technically his design is allready somewhat blow back operated.

Select fire with a solenoid operated sear would be pretty easy to acheive.

As far as semi-auto is concerned nearly all blowback powered airguns/paintball guns/... would run full auto if it wasn't for the trigger group design. Have you had a look at the ZDSPB.com marker animations ?

Yes I have looked some paintball animations, some of them are quite neat design, but make those trigger with precision with the tools that I have is difficult.

After a small modification of the valve´s spring, the solenoid+valve is working :D
So I ordered this, it´s a NE555 timer chip.
After a short reading about 555 timer chips, I´m not able to come up with a circuit for semi/auto (a 3 shot burst fire if possible  ). So if somebody have already done this, help is very appreciated :)

Jack can't you wait until it's more presentable? It's quite ghetto now, and I only put well made products on my youtube channel
Right now just a 12v dc input to the solenoid, when turn it on, opens the valve, when turned off, the valve closes, smooth action
