how much PSI can a 3 liter bottle hold if you dont know, how much a 2 liter can hold would also be helpful thx

Depends on what material and how thick the material is. It doesn't matter how big or small the bottle is it matters only what the material is. A plastic bottle like a coke bottle I've heard can take 100 psi safely.

Bottles for carbonated soft drinks are typically tested to around 300 psi burst pressure, however the blow moulding process involves many variables so it's impossible to tell how much an individual bottle can take.

Ha... haha. 700 PSI? Have fun getting a 3L soda bottle to hold that. For a soda bottle that large, I'd keep it under 100psi, tops. They can likely hold about 120 and I'd expect them to burst before 200.

I remember seeing a guy add fibreglass sheet to a plastic bottle, both 2 and 3L. Improved the hold pressure to 350- 400psi. Might have been someone on spudfiles actually.

Just like everyone else said, PLEASE keep it under 100 PSI, I had one burst and it was SO scary! Not to mention the fact that if air enters your bloodstream, you will die in minutes.. lol.. But DON'T put fiberglass on the bottle, it will eat RIGHT through it! Trust me, I make props that use fiberglass, and I know the bottle that you are talking about, yeah, 120 PSI TOPS.

Even if you are going to pressurize the bottle to 100 psi I still wouldn't. You can make an air tank out of 1 galvanized steel end cap, a length of galvanized steel pipe and 1 threaded galvanized steel connecter for around $10. A galvanized steel pipe can take very high pressures safely.

What are you planning to make with that bottle anyway?
