Rubber, open-cell foam, garden hose to name a few...

This is going to sound insulting, but I actually find that the polymer which dildo's are constructed of make a perfect bumper!

Cut a small section off and fold it inside the housing.

Texts from Bennett are easier to understand than this sentence, just saying.

I didn't understand either

Jsefcik, how about a strong spring and some rubber to prevent damage to the piston? You could use rubber washers to soften the hit and then the spring can take the rest.

You never mentioned a spring.

I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't think it was strong enough. It is, however, up to you to find the right spring. May be difficult.

if i get enough rubber washers and build it up enough, i think it might work

not gonna use a spring

Don't just use rubber washers, they don't compress enough.

Open cell foam has worked best for me so far.
Closed cell foam breaks down and needs replacement. Use the dense foam. The core of a Poof brand football was used in my ABS test cannon.
Use a thick pad so the piston has a relatively long braking zone to soften the impact force at the end of travel.

"Silicone rubber" would have sufficed ;)

Nah these dildos are quite unique dildos in that they are constructed of non-typical dildo material...

you see, I stuck a test specimen of these dildos into an x-ray diffraction unit and verified that their crystallinity was in fact unique from that of silicone dildo's.

In conclusion - these are special dildos which gives them the ability to absorb impacts in a bumper situation better than normal dildos.
