rotating, because it´s easier to recock, a in line hammer that is strong enough will be a big pain to recock if reload mechanism is connected with it, a rotating hammer makes it way easier

Yeah you're right. I think rotating is simpler to make anyways.

Your actual hammer will probably need to be something less fragile. I made a similar (read "uglier") version, and my PVC hammer broke with very little spring tension swinging it.

I agree, I made my out off pieces of aluminium and steel tubes glued together with epoxy and fueled all the cavities with tin to add weight

Actually, I was going to put a SS screw in the hammer head (the hammer in the video isn't even finished, just so you know) where the hammer would hit the valve so it is stronger. If it breaks, I'll make a stronger one, or use the flare gun.

I hope you have a wide range of adjustment on your hammer because I suspect the Mcmaster push button valves vary as to pull weight. LnL may have been easy but when I was using mine at 800 it was ~20 lb pull.

Damn, that's a lot. Worst case scenario I use the flare gun. And if that doesn't even work, I don't know what I'll do, because a homemade one would certainly require a stronger hammer than the push button valve.

I guess I'll just hope for the best

Ah ok, nice idea! That looks like it could be stronger than mine, but is less compact. Looking forward to seeing it... I got some more parts for my trigger including 3 more springs, but I'm having trouble finding a way to mount them. I need more screws to mount them with the idea I have, so I need yet another trip to Ace.
