Look what the postman brought today
I can't sing enough praises for jake's work, everything from the blade to the handle to the sheath is just brilliant, you can clearly see the hours of effort he puts into these beautiful creations... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:

I finished off this bowie for a friends 18th present.. It's not perfect.. The idea was a hardened knife that's lived. 7mm spring steel, flame blued mild steel guard, sheoak handle. Etched in vinegar to take away some glare and make it look a bit rougher

Looks quite nice, but i would have just leaved it polished. The fitting of the guard and handle piece looks quite rough, but not bad at all. Can i get a pic of the shieth?

You can't see it, but there's a leather washer between the handle and guard. It looks a bit neater in person, but yeah fitting of handle/guard etc. is what I need to practice.jakethebeast wrote:Looks quite nice, but i would have just leaved it polished. And a polish is only a few minutes away with a buffing mop if he ever feels so inclined
The sheath isn't finished yet, so it's just a leather cover at this stage.
