Soon the Mix40 and I stopperai tests, I will lelook of ThorJack.
the nail is 3.4mm in diameter.
My ignition with a coil will now, it's more reliable than flash ignition.
I can shoot different kinds of bullets with Thorjack, that's cool!
seals bullets do not penetrate toothe projectiles steel / aluminum poles through well!

Tough target to crack, but achievable in my view.

Take the russianSP-6 subsonic round as an example:

It features a 16 gram bullet with a hardened steel core fired at "only" 950 feet per second which is quoted as penetrating 8mm of steel plate at 100 metres.

What is needed is something heavier and harder than a nail as a penetrating core...

yes I understand ...
a tungsten rod would be useless.
the projectile skirt steel / aluminum penetrated out of two sides ...

les projos que je tire avec le Withoutloss ou le Thorjack, ceux avec la tête acier et la jupe alu sont bien pénétrant justement parceque la pointe est massive et dure. en exemple la section acier galva traversée de part en part récemment

I spoke of my bullets that pierce the steel

Ah OK.

Maybe something like an old drill-bit will be ideal as a penetrating core...

not too expensive...

@JSR: if he found a suitable carbide drill, he'd still need the special wheel to grind it to a point. An old 6mm or so tap ground to a point wouldn't perform quite as well, but from a hybrid like this using a proper sabot would still penetrate 20mm of mild steel without much trouble.

Not necessarily

I find it conceivable that it would act as a punch without being ground to a point.

But then it's just tool steel with a carbide tail...

Actual tungsten rods would make more sense in my opinion, they're actually denser, harder than steel, just cylindrical and can be cut to length, can be made pointy, if wanted, with a bit of persuasion ( Ok I must admit it did take me a little while to make a 4mm rod pointy without proper tools)...

They're not as easy to find on ebay.fr, but shipping from England is generally not that bad, in fact I'm pretty sure I had mine sent to France while I was there. (the French a re pretty useless with the whole Ebay thing...)
