Have you tried the "soup tin test"?

No not yet,Im down to my last co2 bulb and am waiting on some Pellgun oil coming in the mail so going to use some of that on the next bulb and see if anything improves( it aparently seals minor leaks?).

I'll then try the "SOUP CAN TEST?" what will this prove though?,I mean like through both sides will give an estimate of FPS and one side and FPS Estimate but what are the specifics?= ie both sides 300 fps +??

ask one of the american members if they would be kind enough to buy one and sent it to you and you papal them the funds to do so.

I'm also looking at getting a gbb the people in china town that have fire works say they can get them I told him if he shows me one ill buy it but till then no chance.

Honestly, if you spent that money on a paintball tank, QEV, slide valve etc right now you would be much better off! But I know what it means to be denied access to "proper" guns.

I'll do some shots at different velocities to show penetration and you can get an idea. Are you using steel or lead BBs?

Alright guys, somethings definately wrong= I cant get the bbs to shoot through one side of a soup tin at point blank range!.

I put some Pellgun oil around the hammer valve pin/some on the top of the co2 bulb charged the bulb shot 5 shots off into other cans then tried to shoot through 2 soup cans( one small smooth one and a larger rippled can). this thing will not even go through one side after numerous shots none would go through, you cant hear any gas leak when the bulb is in there.

the P99 Compact is only 345 fps ( max) but surely it should shoot through a soup can at point blank?!.....

Definitely sounds like it's lacking power. In my experience a steel BB at 400 fps will go clean through both sides of an average soup tin.

Yeh well the guy I bought it off is trying to tell me that cause its blowback and only 300fps or so that it wont be very powerfull at all but im sure this thing isnt shooting as it should,the you tube clips prove this alone.

I now have to try figure out why its shooting so weak?!,it holds gas and you cant hear any leaks so if that hammer valve did need new seals wouldnt it lose gas and be able to hear a leak?.if I leave a bulb in there gun charged it stays charged even days later,I really need a chrony to know for sure but I wanted an indoor one that didnt need the extra light fittings etc( like an Airsoft Chrony) but none seem to exist.

Ive started tinkering with the CP99 Compact again, I just got a new hammer valve and am in the process of taking it all apart, you have to take the whole gun apart to fit the new valve!. Its pretty complicated and hope to hell I can get it back togther once I strip the guts of it apart!?

Theres a little Stone Filter inside the hammer valve to keep contaminants out ,I was thinking of removing this filter for more flow or should I leave it inplace?.

Also concidering putting a slightly stronger hammer spring inplace , I think this is why it shoots with so little power by not hitting the hammer valve hard enough and not releasing enough co2 per shot. I wonder if this is a good idea though as a stronger spring might cause excessive wear and be harder for the gun to cycle??.

While its all apart I'm thinking of getting a longer barrel expertly machined up too for more power/range = any suggestions/help with these ideas much appreciated..........

That pretty much sums it up, you'll get better performance but at the same time increase trigger load, wear and reduce shot count.

You might also want to look into the possibility of streamlining the valve for better flow.

The stock barrel is sadly just smoothbore, but if the machinist guy we use at work will do it i'll get a longer barrel made up which should increase performance a lot .The standard barrel on the CP99 Compact is only a pathetic 3.6" long so I'll try get a 6" Barrel made up.

Yeh I'll have to take pics as I pull it apart,I lost a small spring already for the slide catch ( it pinged away somewhere!)so I'll have to make another one.

In what way do you mean streamlining the valve??.

Mass produced valves usually make concessions to ease of manufacture which means they are not necessarily the best shape for best performance, and you can trim them down in order to improve gas flow.

If you're firing steel BBs, you don't need rifling anyway. A longer barrel will improve performance and reduce noise, and it gives you an excuse to add a suppressor

I doubt removing it will improve performance, usually the gas for the individual shot comes from an expansion chamber past the filter, not from the capsule itself.

I bit the bullet and took the gun completely apart and I now know the gun 100% and where it all goes plus how to assemble it all again so pleased about that.I have fitted the new valve and looking at how to get a longer barrel installed.

I think I will indeed fit a stronger hammer spring but I will only install one thats slightly stronger or even put the spring under slight pre- load with a few tiny washers if I can get any that small,the spring is tiny!.

The stock barrel is only 3.5 " long,the ID is 4.38mm the OD is 5.95mm

Daisy Max Speed BB'S are measuring at 4.35mm

I have 2 other bits of steel tube but sadly there will be too much blowby, one is 4.49mm ID 6.47mm OD the other tube I have is 4.48mm ID and 6.36mm OD.

So I have to try get a longer stainless tube with 4.38mm ID and pretty much 5.95mm OD again because it has to fit in a plastic barrel housing and theres a clear rubber type barrel packing that goes at the breech end of the barrel to create a good seal.I dont know how Im going to get a longer barrel that specific in dimension because it would probably be impossible to machine a barrel with a wall thickness that thin!. A longer barrel would really be my best upgrade option though

maybe look into other forums of people who specifically upgrade these kinds of guns? there may be info on how to do such a thing there.
