High pressure problem

Just about everyone seems to have some way of achieving more than 100 psi of compressed air. EXCEPT ME! So how do you all get high pressures? (anything above 100 psi)
Refrigerator or air conditioning compressors and bottled gases (from industrial gas suppliers, SCUBA shops, or paintball shops, usually) are two of the most common methods. Others include homemade single or multi-stage pumps, pressure multipliers, and boiling of liquefied (or solidified) gases inside a pressure chamber.

A decent air compressor. Mine was 100 dollars at home depot and gets me to 160 psi. Do some research on fridggys as well.

Shock pumps. Specifically the one pictured. (Assuming you're working with small stuff)

The pump doesn't go. You take itAircannonSweden wrote:How much preassure can a shock pump go up to?

Typically 300-400 psi, but you can go further: http://www.cannondaleexperts.com/Cannon ... p_219.html

Good, I'll consider a shock pump, But if I can get my hands on a refrigerator compressor I'll probably use that.

You could make your own high pressure pump.
I made one that reached 80 bar. nearly killed me...

What did you make it out of? How did it nearly kill you? Was it cheap?Brian the brain wrote:You could make your own high pressure pump.

The check valve went, and the handle broke. So make sure the check valve is good, and use a steel handle. I'm sure BtB has some good advice.PotatoEnemy17 wrote:What did you make it out of? How did it nearly kill you? Was it cheap?Brian the brain wrote:You could make your own high pressure pump.
