I recall these odd looking MX7 Dart guns in gun books back in the 80's and have today found a site on these!!!.you guys gotta see these,I want to make one :D

Very interesting. Similar to the more elaborate homemade Nerf guns but using latex tube instead.

1:17 is missing a letter.

Should be easy enough to replicate, though I wouldn't go for rubber power, if you want some real energy it should be a pneumatc.

By this do you mean air-spring (like Nitro piston) or compressed air released by a valve?

With an air spring you're still limited to what you can pull back with your arms - maybe an air piston would be a better idea.

Yup... since you're launching a heavy projectile at relatively low velocity.
