Hi,
Here's a start to my gun (soldering is ugly, I know). Couple questions:
(1) I need to get a higher pressure in the chamber and don't have a compressor. Any manual air pump suggestions to get to +150 psi range?
(2) I purchased a Schrader valve from a tire store and it's tightened in real snug, but after removing the bike pump clamp it's leaking from the inner needle area? Is it defective? It's only around 90psi max?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Before you add any more pressure let me just get one thing clear - to seal off the pressure chamber your using "a wad of plumbers putty"?
If that is correct - before I shoot it at any higher pressures (or ever again, personally) I'd make sure there's something better plugging the end, like a properly sweated end cap.
Hopefully I'm assuming wrong and there is some other means of sealing going on. But if you've gone through all the trouble to sweat the rest of the parts - I'd at least finish it off and sweat an end cap on!

The stem might need to be tightened, I've personally used standard automotive schraders to 850 psi without leaks.air_dannon wrote:(2) I purchased a Schrader valve from a tire store and it's tightened in real snug, but after removing the bike pump clamp it's leaking from the inner needle area? It's actually PC Metal epoxy putty in the end... didn't sweat the end because there will be a nice wooden grip encasing that area eventually... but you're right, might as well sweat a 1/2 cap on it for ultimate safety. Before you add any more pressure let me just get one thing clear - to seal off the pressure chamber your using "a wad of plumbers putty"?
I ordered a Lezyne Sport Floor Drive Pump that can hit 160 psi for now. It should suffice until I can afford upgrades...
Thanks for the comments, guys!
