1/4 vs 1/8 in Copper Parts and Fittings

Are there any advantages to using 1/4 inch pipes and fittings vs 1/8 inch pipes and fittings?

I'd like to keep the size of my cannon down to a minimum (weight, cosmetic reasons).

I plan to use as the main valve system a QEV and slide valve. I plan on firing airsoft BB's and .177 pellets.

Also, on Grainger's website, I noticed that there are some 1/8 inch pipe fittings available but no 1/8 inch pipes, only this coil:

that looks like refrigeration tubing.



Will this work with the 1/8 inch fittings they've listed?

more flow + more chamber volume = more power, though larger pipes tend to either be much heavier, or have a lower pressure rating.

Thanks for the info. Any chance that the 1/8 inch tubing I pictured above will work with 1/8 inch fittings like this:

To be honest, I don't know. It probably would work, but if you go on mcmaster.com they'll have all the copper pipes and fittings you could want.
