funnily enough i thought of modifying one of those into a airsoft plinker i scraped the idea because the reloading would be a slight pain and most probable wont even knock down a can

that is always an option. (still illegal) so is smuggling (also illegal)

also i don't have the tools & time available for a build.

Haha bro, you won't get that in, it says what it is on the customs declaration. Besides, I played with one just like it and it's a complete POS, not worth half an ounce of mouse sh­it.

Also, converting one is just as illegal as building, not to mention you'll get perhaps 250fps running .25s in it, so it's hardly worth it.

i really don't get the gun laws.
i can't have an Airsoft gun.
but i can goto the local markets and buy a Slingshot & ammo.
which one has more destructive power, potential for misuse.
