the Group of clerics they are talking about cannot issue any rule by themselves and there are no history or direct/indirect revelation that supports the new rule of the Syrian clerics.
The meat of those animals mentioned is completely forbidden in Islam and considered as `Haram`.
This is just a way to misguide people ,that's it.

I don't know about the people who are told that they can eat the meat of those animals but the ones who passed the false law of eating the meat which is even unhealthy for human consumption will be punished.
they have leaves to eat, they can eat that.

All i know is Pork is Haram for me because of some reasons i learned in Islamic studies , goat ribs are delicious too.
In some medicines the ingredients might contain something which is haram ,but you can take the medicine because there is no other choice or and other cure similarly maybe this is why the clerics said those meat can be eaten
