Got the 1/2" valve, it's pretty sweet, all polymer body so it's pretty light, rated at 150 psi, good enough for me.

I have one of these Cheap-o Chinese Pumps on the way just to see what it's capable of:



4500 psi in a small chamber with a burst disk might make for some interesting supersonic testing.

For that money it's not going to be a Hill I'm sure, but it should suit my light duty requirements. Since the biggest trouble with these seems to be overheating, I wonder if a simple jacket full of coolant would be an effective upgrade.

ITWOST, I plan on some failure testing with various QEVs, using that exact same pump. $59 roobux shipped is $10 more than I paid for a pitiful shock pump.

My suspicions are that the wee little square 1/8" ones will survive at least 2kpsi, if not far more. The diaphragm is more likely to extrude out of the seat or the sealing face will rapidly exit the exhaust. But, I have a 1/8" nipple, a containment vessel and some earpro, so it should be a good experiment.

This is my feeling too, the diaphragm will fail long before the structure. IIRC they've been taken to the 600-700 psi range without failure but with increased wear on the diaphragm itself.

I have a 1/8" nipple

Mine are around 1/4"

I've personally subjected a 1/2" (with the 3/8" outlet) to warm unregulated CO2, so my expectations are fairly high. Now, a 1/8" QEV, 2kpsi and a 6" barrel, that should be an entertaining toy.

ITWOST, again. Thoroughly impressed with the pump(for the price), ran it up to the full 4500psi. Wee little 1/8" QEV survived 2000, didn't manage to trigger it because of valve problems. Now I've been distracted by a pressure washer handle and 3000psi. Next test is a larger QEV.

Not even a diaphragm failure? Did you inspect it for damage?

I'm yet to strip it, but it held. Poor test because it was a QEV that I had bored out the seat to 4.5mm (was thereabouts to 4mm). It's always had a slight leak since, but still the gauge read 2100. Seeing as I was indoors I didn't care to go much higher. I've got another ordered which I plan on testing more extensively, I have a few spare diaphragms.

[Edit] Pulled it apart, nought a mark, score nor imperfection on it. Seems they're more durable than you'd expect from a $4 part from the PRC. 4500psi testing to follow
