Today I induced failure in said poor abused QEV. Diaphragm returned to the usual shape, bar some deformation.

What am I looking at, was the diaphragm sucked into the seat? At what pressure did it happen?

In other news I received my pump, looks pretty well made for the price. I haven't gotten round to testing it though.

Yep, solid centre part totally entered the seat, only stopped by the cone seal. Approximately 3500psi. I installed a plug in the chamber port of the QEV to minimise the potential destructive effect. Though speaking of destruction, I have ruined two schrader valve cores and a ball valve so far, this HPA jazz is certainly more fun than I expected. Need to buy some more needle valves

Incidentally, my male quick connect has a schrader valve thread on it. It isn't a coincidentally similar thread, it's a perfect fit.

Same! I took the opportunity to try it with my airsoft pen gun, took it to 500 psi in 2 strokes!

Very happy with it so far, apparently it already has a sealed liquid jack for cooling purposes. Time will tell how well it holds up but my first impressions were very good, especially for the price.

Former lab equipment? Last I saw that type of anodizing was on an FT-IR Spectrometer...

There seems to have been a general outage for a couple of days, as yet unexplained.

Attention: There has been a outage for a couple of days! That is all. :P The error message I got was about DNS so it was more likely then not a domain name server misconfiguration when maintenance was done is my guess but whatever it was it absolutely was on the host side of things.

As part of my efforts to build a collection of unusual pneumatic devices, picked up one of these yesterday. Haven't had time to try it out yet, more to follow.

It didn't come with any darts though so hopefully there won't be any moments like this during testing :D

edit: 50 cal rifled barrel, interesting...

Time to make a pcp lower hmm? 8)

Was looking at a 32 gauge Cap Chur built on a H&R single shot platform a couple days ago...was surprised that it had shallow rifling as well.

Tear down pics as usual?? :)

I already made a fill nipple for 1000 psi testing with HPA, alas the thing is leaking all over the place...

I wonder how well it would stabilize a lead projectile, because if it would then this could be a good basis for a 500 fps big bore PCP...

Guess how I'm spending my afternoon ;) coming soon to a separate thread near you.

Reminds me of a previous project, but these guys seem to be serious about it as a viable commercial product...

Got it
