Hi everyone. For my first post I'd like to show my recent build. It's a 1+1/2" coaxial with a 1/2" barrel. All made with sch 40 pvc. The piston is a piece of dowel rod with o-rings and a neoprene washer to seal against the barrel. Exhaust valve is a 3/4" sprinkler valve that was modded to activate via a 1/4" ball valve. It is only 2 foot long sections of pipe and I know the ratio is a little under peak performance but I wanted something compact. It does put out some power. Using these .50 cal blowgun darts it will pierce half inch plywood from 15 feet at 100 psi and will go through at 125 psi.

First post though have been making these things for a little while but it's been a few years since I built anything. Hope y'all enjoy.

Nice build, have you tested roundball or any other types of ammunition other than the darts?

Thank you, and yes, I've shot 1/4" bolts out of it which will tear right through aluminum siding :) but no round ball. I found those blowgun darts online and I think they are perfect. Was playing around with it earlier at about 100 psi and could bury them half way into plywood from about 30 feet. It's so much fun! This cannon has a lot of power, I would love to shoot some ball bearings out of it.

Good stuff, love the overkill pilot valve. Are those darts accurate?

Hah yeah I guess it's a little overkill but I will likely end up using that valve on something else eventually.

The darts sure are accurate! I've been moving further and further away from my target and can hit within a foot circle from about 50 feet using a rest for the gun. It's awesome, I might load a video if I have time

Not bad for a homebuilt launcher with a smoothbore barrel!

Here's a video of me shooting some small bolts at things from about 15 feet. This thing kicks ass!

where do you fill it from? in my head filling through the ball valve wouldn't work because the equalizer valve is one way. Am i mistaken?

I fill through the ball valve and the equalizer is just a small hole in the diaphragm of the sprinkler valve. So I'm able to fill and exhaust through the same port.

I like how the aerosol can appears to vaporize, even though frame by frame you can see it jumping away. Nice work, blowing holes in stuff is what this hobby is all about!
