I have recently completed my first build with a 4” pic chamber of 48” reduced down to 2” and then down again to 1.5” with a pair of street elbows to a ball valve and a 54” barrel. Pumped it up to 60psi and let it sit an hour with no pressure loss and no leaks found at any joints. Has a heavy duty metal tire valve in the 4” end cap to fill it. Waiting on tubes to freeze for test shots.

That said, I am already wanting to build a heavier duty version in hopes of launching larger shark baits out. I have a buddy with a drone that can carry about 4# or so and he drops about 2-600 yards off shore typically. Everyone else I know kayaks baits out in the dark without being able to see the water conditions very well. I’d like to be able to build a version with a 2” or larger barrel with the intent of getting larger frozen baits out past a couple hundred yards. Has anyone else done this? My plan is to build it out of schedule 80 pvc, possibly stainless tube, and charge it similar to a pcp air rifle by using a regulated scuba tank to charge it multiple times. I have to stay pneumatic powered only to keep it legal in Florida.
