But then your going to still need to pay shipping, so unless you are buying a lot then it's going to be cheaper to just try to find a local store that carries them.

threaded not sure but u don't really need them to be. infact mine was free. i just walked into a auto place (that fixes cars) and asked for one and they gave me it, then i left lol.

i was thinking about this too, so you can find these in hardware stores in most cases?

i would just use a non threaded but im trying to fit in a schrader and 1/4 inch nipple onto a 1 1/2 inch threaded cap. the non threaded ones would take up too much room in the inside of the cap

Get these kind.
You can get them at tire stores.

They are better than the pop in ones, and are better than threaded ones.
They won't blow out or get pushed into the chamber if you press too hard.

i've found one hardware store that has them, don't go to hardware stores for them, go to autoparts stores. do you have car quest? if so they have the exact ones frank is talking about

Ive never known threaded schrader valves to have a pressure rating. Also Ive never seen a threaded schrader valve used for a tire. [This would help us conclude that we are not confined to the ~60 PSI range found in most tires] Considering these are of metal construction, Id believe them to be suitable for any pressure that can be attained by any household compressor.

^^^Or greater actually. Metal scrader valves can contain some pretty god awful pressure. You should try a local Napa auto parts and ask for high pressure tank fill valves. I pay about ten bucks for 6 of them.
