Just figured I would say hi and ask a quick question. Below are my first and only cannons. I have been using different types of aerosol, but only getting about 100 yards. If I upgrade to propane or MAPP how much more distance can I expect? Thanks.
BTW, it is a 1.5" barrel, 3 feet long. 4" chamber, 12" long. BBQ grill ignitor.

I don't know about distance, but I've tested cheap hairspray etc... vs propane by the hang time of a golf ball fired (almost) straight-up. Metered propane yeilded 6-8 sec more hang time, however, I think this was because the meter system delivers a perfect fuel/air ratio, as where aerosol you're just guessing. I think the difference in power is mostly due to a correct fuel/air ratio rather than a more powerful fuel. Before I built a propane meter, I'd use a half or 3/4th second long spray of car starter fluid, which worked a lot better than hairspray.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.
