so... I'll try to explain it.

I'm starting from the point where everthing is setup (burstdisk, paint, pressurised)

-you pull the pin with your hand on the lever
-you throw it
-the rubberband pulls the lever straight up aswell as pulling the small metal pole down letting a relatively slow leak of air into the second chamber
-when the first and second air chamber are equal pressures the rubber band will pull the second air chamber down
-burst disk blows sending paint flying everywhere

so, I think this'll give you enough of a time delay to be a good grenade

tell me If I forgot to explain anything, or if you see anything that'll make it not work...

-thanks.

Well it would be easyer to get your point across with an animation of the grenade firing. It is not the easyest diagram to understand.
Wouldn't the grenade hurt someone if it where to hit them? What if it breaks on something hard and shoots pvc everywhere?

in all probabily I'm not gonna use it in a game... I just wanna see if if can be done.

also I have no idea how to make an animation... I could make a scene by scene picture(s)

If you do use it in a game, you'll basically throw away 15-20 bucks when you chuck it...

nvm found one

but i'm not gonna replace the burst disk just yet

Pyromaniac13, I think that a burst-disk would work better for two reasons.
One: most of the “pop-valves” I’ve seen release air slowly or at lest slower than a burst-disk.
And two: burst-disks are cheaper…I think.
Otherwise that is a vary ingenious idea. Good work.

Here is the idea I was talking about, it is self expanitory.
I have no idea how to make the hammer. You should look into a few designs.
(don't delete this, I was talking to him about it)

Well I was thinking of a wind up delay mechanism but it might just be better to make it 'explode' when it hits the ground. You can use the force of the grenade hitting the ground to trigger a sensitve mechanism.
