Homemade Epoxy???

Ok, here's an idea. Tell me what you guys think. Do you think you could make a homemade epoxy from pvc cement and pvc dust(sanded pvc)? Do you think this would work better for pvc since this would actually become part of the pipe?

I thought of this befor and realized certain drawbacks.
Like you could only use it on pvc, you have to get the right mix for it to set correctly and apply it to the thingy that needs to be glued within a few secons.
Not to mention it will be a bitch to get all the pvc shavings by themselves in large quantity.

This tecnicaly wouldn't be an epoxy.
Furthermore, I don't see myself needing to attach PVC to PVC in a non-fitting situation with a tensile strength greater than 3500 PSI or so... which mass-market epoxies are easily cabable of. (acctualy, I've seen 4500 PSI stuff)

actually if you have a metal grinder like i do it would take 20min to sand down most of a piece of 2" by 6" long pipe.

i always use the grinder when sanding more then 2mm of pvc and it doesnt have to be deadly accurate as a grinder usally sands the pipe in small rectangles that you need to smooth out.

Why can't you just use regular pvc cement even though its not on a fitting? It would take longer to dry and you would have to hold it in place but so what. Also they make epoxy specifically meant for PVC and plastics. You just have to sand it down a little where your attaching them.

I'm just saying this might be usefull where you actually needed to make something become part of the pipe. This would make it nigh unto impossible to get that object off of the pipe.

yeah but you could just use regular pvc cement that would be better.
