how can i make a descent Potato gun with just materials around the house. I want one that doesnt need pneumatics. One that can shoot like 50 yards or so

to shoot 50yards he wont need propane just a basic combustion.

You will need pvc or some sort of plastic pipe. If you build one out of pvc or abs it will shoot 50 yards no problem.

Just use a 2 liter bottle for the chamber and glue a barrel to it and put a screw trhough both together for strength.

Use a tennis ball can, or something simular, burry it in the ground 2/3 rds of the way, get a can of Zippo lighter fluid, soak the inside walls of the can, drop in a tennis ball, through a lit match in, the tennis ball has no where to go but out! Alot of times the ball comes out on fire, then goes out dureing flight, but be smart, don't shoot in grassy fields, or anywhere it can catch something on fire, be standing back when you throw in the match!!!
