Alright, i pretty much know almost nothing about pneumatic guns so im going to ask a few questions. first, here's a diagram of the gun i plan to make.

Image
(the picture doesn't show up very well so please click on it to see a full sized image)(also, it is not drawn to scale but is pretty close)

1. what kind of valve(i dont know the correct term) do i need at point 1 to let air out of the chamber?

2. what kind of valve do i need at point 2 to put air into the chamber?

3. will this gun work?(are the sizes of pipes good?)

keep in mind, this gun is going to be for shooting carrots

use a ball valve (crappy performance) or a modded sprinkler valve (check the how to section, better performace). u can use a schrader valve from an inertube or go to the auto parts store boys and ask for one. you might want to use a larger diameter pipe for the pressure chamber. seriosly though, you should be able to find all you need to know from this site and google.
