The thing uses two QEVs in unison, so, yes, sort of.

Yea it is soldered just took me ages to get it lookin real neat - that was very important to me!!!!

The cost - actual was around £40-50 but i got a lot of the fittings and pipe free

I reckon it would have set me back £100-150 easily as i have used 35m copper which the fittings average around £10 each and the pipe is £30-40 per length!!!

The QEV's i used because we can't get hold of sprinkler valves over in the UK - but they are actually more powerfull!!! - A 3/4" QEV is as powerfull if not more than a 1" Sprinkler valve!!!!

Yes, in theory.

It's pre-made, and originally designed to operate pneumatic cylinders, but the theory of operation is identical.

It's more precisely made, so you can pilot them off almost anything. A small leak can fire these by accident - because they have no back flow whatsoever.

If I wanted to find a QEV on ebay or somewhere what would I type in as a search 'cause I haven't been able to find one.

Try Quick exhaust valve - but to be honest i have only ever found really small bore QEV's on ebay!! - and they aint any cheaper!

Try pneumatic suppliers!

Animal hit the nail on the head - don't use eBay, unless you have a really odd size to get hold of.

I'm sure a helpful person will direct you to the Mcmaster part number... (I don't know it)

@Animal: I'm fine. Still living as normal - not dead yet, at least.

@ Animal: I have got some designs going at the moment. I'm not yet sure which of them to turn into reality.

Small funds and little time coupled with several hobbies and big ideas in all of them doesn't work well.
