this will be my first pneumatic cannon that i will be building and i have a few questions about the air supply.

first of all, my cannon will be very basic like this
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=122

the chamber will be 2" and 4' long.
i will be putting 100psi as maximum in the chamber

right now i have an electric air compressor and i was thinkin about getting a tank. I was wondering if someone could give me a list/chart of different sizes of air tanks and how many shots i can get out of them filling the chamber up at the most of 100psi (nothing higher probably)

One of my pneumatics has a tank about half as big as yours and with a 15 gal compressor I get about 15 shots shooting marlbles with continuous air connection before the compressor kicks on. If I switch off the unit I can get 20 or so good shots with what is in the tank before I get weak uninteresting shots. So with the same tank you might get about half as many as I get.

i'd say about 10 shots but thats an estimate. Do you have access to a compressor to fil it up ?? if you not you could get a battery or 12volt bicycle pump to full it up with and then you could fill it up on the go to(just hook the punp to your car 12v outlet.)
