CLADD

this is my first pneumatic gun. its only for shooting carrots and other small things because i live in the city and can't be shootin' spuds all around town. it has a 2" chamber about 15" long and a 1/2" barrel about 20" long. it also uses a ball valve to fire.

i know its not a very good gun, but i will be giving it to a friend and then making one with a sprinkler valve. i will need some help with that but thats another post. dont tell me to paint it cause its not gonna happen.

Primative but useable, and if your not going to paint it! I wont ask you to. How many blocks can you shoot a carret? 4,?? 7,???

he probably shoots 'em 4-5 blocks. carrot bits are light

Its a good basic cannon but you have Drain fittings on it.Those are bad and can explode and hurt your friend.

If by drain u mean DWV, no those are pressure rated. Mabe you thought that because of the bell reducer?

You can tell by the socket depth.

jrrdw: CLADD stands for Carrot Launching and Deployment Device, and i don't know exactly how far it shoots because i haven't been able to go somwhere where i can safely test it.

frankrede: the fittings are sch 40 and they ARE pressure tested, so they're okay. my cement is also made for PVC/DWV so it should hold

PVC Arsenal 17: im not painting it because i don't want to spend money on it when im just gonna get rid of it. besides, i dont really care how it looks, just how it works. i have some cool camo pattern ducktape(its spelled right, it can be spelled duct or duck) that i might use on my next gun.

Just because they hold pressure doesn't mean they're safe. Those could blow. Schedule 40 is a measure of dimensions, you're looking for NSF PW on the thing, which means it's pressure rated. Just by looking at the socket depth tells me it's DWV.

Good beginner gun i guess, carrots are a fun ammo, relatively cheap too!

My advice though is to rebuild it more safely and give it to your friend afterwards, but the smart thing is not to do that at all unless your friend is a compitent operator of a spudgun. Too many liability issues.
