Joining elbows?

I was at Home Depot the other day buying fittings and a guy who worked there told me the way to join 1'' elbows is with a 3/4'' coupling. I bought it because he assured me and it fit nicely. Just wanted to check with the pros if this is an okay setup. (Safe, leak-proof, etc.)
The two big reducers will connect to my 3'' chambers, and the tee will bbe glued to my sprinkler valve (modded).
The little colored pencil is there to hold it up.

Do you mean instead of a short piece of pipe between them there are 3/4" couplings? Is your barrel going to be one inch or are you going to use a reducer and have a bigger or smaller barrel? If your barrel is going to be one inch just use short sections of 1" pipe.

I havent ever heard of that before. If I where you I would just use some 1 inch pipe because I know that it works for sure. And Im sure you know that you have dmv on you chamber but just dont go above 60 psi.

I'm going to have a 1'' sprinkler valve, then a reducer and my 1.5'' barrel. Yes bluetooh, those asre 3/4'' couplings instead of 1'' pipe. Yes prof, I know I have DWV chamber things. (How can you tell anyway? Is it the length of something?)

The shape of the reducers tells you if they're DWV and on elbows and tees you can see the sockets.

iv used this method before on my famas it works fine and is extra thick so must be a bit safer

All reducers are dvw you have to get bushings for them to be pressure rated.

Good, that's what I'm looking for. Thanks for the help, and in the future I'll stay away from DWV. (At least I made sure verything was sch. 40)

Yeah, I was going to say scrap the reducers and use bushings but everyone beat me to it. Owell.

So why did you use couplings?
How good of a fit are they?
Why not just use a piece of pipe?

To answer Frank's questions respectively;
The Home Depot guy told me it was the way to do it
They fit okay, but the elbow can move around
I didn't feel like forking over all that money for a huge piece of pipe I'm only going to use part of.

you can usually just get 2 foot sections of pipe that would probably be cheaper. And when you made sure everything was sch 40 dvw isn't sch 40

We have sch. 40 DWV around here, don't know where you live.
