1" should work for full porting... though, I would make it 1.5" or 2", just to be safe. It will not decrease performance any discernable amount (at least it didn't on mine)

Now you and I both have female adapters with plugs as the back end. Should I count the threads inside as part of the travel?

If it is SCH 80 and you are using the 3" fittings as we discussed, then no. A suggestion: fill in the 4" plug except for the 3/4" (it is 3/4", right?) port hole with some kind of filler. Maybe epoxy, or maybe foam rubber (to fill in the space and provide part of a bumper; it would not suffice fully unless you extended it out of the 4" plug (which I recommend). With a pilot volume so large, you are going to want to reduce the pilot volume for faster actuation.

I am considering filling the plug. What I meant to say was there are still female threads on the inside, because the plug doesn't screw in all the way. Should I count the length of these female threads as part of the piston travel? Sorry, I was half asleep writing that and half asleep still so forgive me if I don't make understand or make any sense.


I've checked and the piston stops at the plug so that's no problem.

Another thing I'm considering is to extend the piston with a coupling so that I can end the barrel portion halfway in the tee. That way I don't have the restriction squeaks mentioned.

Yes, I was going to try a bolt style breech but due to cost/complexity I didn't. I chose this idea over other because it leaks very little, if at all. I want full performance.

Man I really hope this thing lives up to the hype....

I think you should invest some money into some cam locks. It's only about another $16. Full performance, quick reload, small price add on.

Eventually I will. And also a 2 1/2" barrel for tennis balls. If my parents buy a house on this lake my goal is to get tennis balls across it. It's 1,200 feet.

ahhh, no cam locks. the breech design (along with clean construction) are going to be the factors that set this gun apart. don't use cam locks.
