I have taken that course, well actully skimed though it and I know what primer does, but if the cement primes/helps fuse the joints can I at least establish that adding priming doesn't matter that much?

I see I geuss your right, but is it nessesary to blot on as much primer like the course says untill it looks like leaking eeewww from the joint?
And just asking does anyone know which ingredient in the primer in softening the pipe before it evaporates, would it happen to be acetone? cause that would be nice

My local irrigation store sells 1 gallon cans, and I doubt even those would last for years. That being said, this isn't the place to cut corners. Save your allowance for a couple of weeks, then gather up the $2.49 and grab a can at Home Depot.
