Spark Plugs???!?

Im a Pneumatic person....and just got started on combustion. Can I use Car "Spark Plugs" for the ignition of the fuel. And if so, How?

definitely!...as for the source of the spark...try hooking up a bbq ignitor to it and seeing if that works. if it doesnt....uuhhh...i dunno. im not much of a combustion person...esp after one damn near took of my eyebrows

Spark plugs need a few KV to work so look at stunguns or piezo sparkers to generate the required voltage.

They work, just not that well in a reall big chamber unless you use a few.

yeah spark plugs run on some 35,000 volts. So if ya find something that could put out that kinda power then sure ya can.

I wouldn't use peizo sparkers because i had a friend who tried one and he said that it sucked. I really think the bbq igniters are what work the best (other than stun guns of course!) but they are usually way more expensive.

A spark plug will work fine with a BBQ igniter, I have tried it. And, JDSpud, a BBQ igniter is peizo.

Yeah, I used a spark-plug in a mini once...... it worked with those little piezo sparkers. Basically, if your spark gap without the spark plug is bigger than the gap made by the spark plug, you are perfectly ok.
