How big and how much? I think I might get one after some huge saving, depending on how much they cost?

Sweet, better have some stuff done before the meet. :P

Yeah some general info would be neat. Size, brand, supplier, tooling, accessories, photos, etcetera.

Now that I think about it, did I post my lathe on these forums? Now that I think about it, I don't believe I have.

BTW, are the Harbor Freights very machining accessories orientated down there in Vegas? I want to get a couple magnetic bases, one for a dial gauge, another with a goose neck coolant system, and maybe just another because there cool. I was going to buy them online, but if they have them down there I might as well put off for a few weeks, and wait for the meet. I'm also considering the purchase of HF's 'Mid-sized' vertical mill, so I might call one of those in, pick that up down there [Ill save 50$ on shipping if I do.]

Mer, I'm rambling... Anyway sweet action, get some info up.

I can't buy the lathe now because I am saving up spending money for a trip this summer, but after that I will probably get one.

Is that a mini metal lathe? How much did it cost?

I am considering purchasing a $400 Cummins Industrial Tools 7"x12" lathe... expensive, but I honestly do not spend my money on anything, so it really wouldn't be a loss... that is, till I wish i had it in college :P

That is NOT a metal lathe, rather a wood lathe. Yeah, I was also thinking that it was a metal lathe, but its obvious from the photographs that its a wood lathe. Just a few differences:

-Tooling is not fixed.
-Both axises of travel are not accurately adjusted.
-There is no auto-feeding of the tooling.
-Stock chucks don't allow you to 'clamp' on ID, and OD.
-Pretty sure the motor speed is fixed, and probably low.

Wow. I too have that exact same lathe. I'm not even kidding. Jet is very nice and super smooth running. Its also soooo quite. They are so heavy though. They are mainly made out of cast iron I think. Did you buy the extension kit? I cant wait to make a mini baseball bat.
