Help with stun gun ignition?

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

i was able to obtain a stun gun and the parts needed for a ignition box. I've basically wired it like it was in the stun gun except I added two 4 AAA battery packs. The LED will come on but I can't get it to spark. What could I be doing wrong? Could someone point me in the direction of some schematics or info?

If needed I could draw a schematic of what i have.

Possibilities:
A) What are the voltage requirements for the stun gun? Some require more than one 9v battery. Currently, you are supplying it with 12 volts. Though I haven't played with different voltages for stun guns, I have always used the exact same amount that my gun requires: one 9v for my 150mv gun.
B) Stupid question, but easy enough to overlook: are your contact points touching/grounding out so that you don't have any gaps for the spark to jump? Can you take your modified box and get it to spark away from the gun and the current electrode setup?
C) Stun guns need FULLY CHARGED BATTERIES to operate correctly. test them all. Use an ammeter or the cheap testers provided by some manufacturers (Duracell, Energizer) Make sure your batteries are high capacity as well. 2500 mAmps is a plus.

How big are your spark gaps? If you LED goes on you must have to big of a gap, unless you wired it wrong

Well, In its original case it called for 3 CR123A Lithium batteries. The batteries I have are new and fully charged.

My spark gaps are very small. I have the wires right next to each other for testing reasons.

I could have it wired wrong. As far as I know I do. Thats why I'm posting here :)
