Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor.

So as a break down... (Stars indicate performace positive features.)

Piezo:
20kv
Low Current
Short Spark Life
Requires more physical effort to create spark.
Cheaper

StunGun
May Be Illegal
*Higher Current
*Longer Spark Life
*Maybe Higher Voltage

Sounds like a StunGun is definatly "better" at lighting things on fire, and in the event of a poor mixture, or hard to light cannon (low ambient temperatures and high moisture??) it may fire on the first try, where a piezo may not.

The one thing that i see on this forum is people waiting for the chance to jump all over somebody. I mean, we are all into potato guns, and yet we all love to jump all over each other. This forum is supposed to be fun and educational not to see who has a bigger D**K.

agreed. man law? man law! well to answer the question i belive that all ignition sources work the same a igniting a fuel. i used a flint lantern lighter on mine and it hasn't failed yet . the only thing different is the way you want to build it into your gun for example had i wanted a handle with a trigger i wouldn't use a flint lighter it would be impractical to twist. also if i wanted to squese a handle to ignite i would spend the extra 10$ and get a stun gun. probly the most reliable ignition for you money would be a camera flash . i have never heard of one of them failing and they are consitered garbage to most people

camera flash are a pain and you need a ignition coil for a open air spark of any decent size. Plus they break easy if you aren't carefull.

Could you make a stungun ignition fire wirelessly? That would be quite a useful feature. Oh and I love using peizos. I have never had a problem with a properly installed BBQ igniter. In a combustion a spark is a spark no matter how big or intense it is.

man law fo sho...

but i don't think camera ignitions break that easley. i've made several working ones and none have broken in a year sofar, unless u swing it by the cords and throw it and the ground that is...but why be so cruel to a spud cannon?
