Oh come on, wiring two photo-diodes to a jack is about as complex a circuit as you'll find in a torch, it really couldn't be simpler - add a couple of resistors et voila, you've got yourself an ROF meter as well

How much pressure a standard 1" sprinkler valve can handle before it starts to leak/fail. You could try the common green one or loads of different types.
