Thats some good craftsmanship, but wouldn't a regular wood lathe be better and last longer?
or forget it, that thing rocks.

I think i have to build one now.... thats so cool. Does it work well? Does the work on it look like a real lathe?

Nice woodworking, and construction. Personally I would have incorporated a bit more metal working, although that may not be available to you. Just a concern with tolerances, and all.
