Well you said that it was on a threaded piece. Therefore you don't need to restart. You just need to unscrew it and then use 5 or 6 layers of teflon(you need to use more when going from PVC to a metal or vise-versa). If that doesn't work than you must have cross threaded it or something, and you would then need to buy a new fitting.

Oh it is a threaded piece? That changes everything... I thought you were referring to a glue joint. If it is in fact a threaded joint, then just follow An Apple Pie's method. If you cross-threaded, then yeah, that kinda sucks. I have cross threaded on metal to PVC threads, but luckily I managed to get it to thread correctly by pushing the threads together straight with a lot of pressure, and then just slowly screwing them together... not recommended, because there is a good chance you will just cross thread them more...

I think im going to do what you said rmich732. Just restart, but not the whole thing of course. If i just take that one part out I can spend about $3 for pvc parts that make it so I dont need anything threaded. Would this fix my problem if I do this? Or do I have to buy all new pieces and re-do the whole cannon?

It depends on the setup of the cannon. A picture would help us out a whole lot. And if it is threaded then all you need to do is just unscrew it and put more teflon tape on it. There is no need to restart or chop up your cannon from what I understand. Once again a picture would help tremendously.

Sorry about the pictures guys I got carried away. My gun is already taken apart and in the process of finishing. The tread wasnt working because I taped it into an end cap. That might be just the beggining of my problems. Ill post the gun once I get the pvc pieces I ordered.
