Need help on Cam-lock barrel connector

OK I understand how the 200D (female) Cam-lock connector is coupled to a combustion chamber but I'm having some problem understanding the 200D (male) section. If I'm using it on a 1.5" barrel I know that the barrel needs to be turned down just a bit so that it slides through the 200D section, but how is the end of that same piece connected to the 1.5" barrel for a gas tight connection? I don't see a threaded male adapter or a 2"X1.5" bushing used in the attached picture. can someone please enlighten me here.....
