I built this from parts from my local small town hard ware store. I have water tested it to 85 PSI. I have tried batteries, marbles, slingshot pellets and water. The power is good but the aim is bad. I have already destroyed my mums least favourite garden ornament as show in pictures above. The batteries seem to do the most damage. Please do not comment on the ball valve, this is my base model.

PS. do you like my cat?

thats a good "im bored, i wanna shoot something" cannon. you know, if you could set it up so that is the ball valve was opened by a spring and held back by a trigger, ill bet you anything it would be more powerful than a sprinkler valve. i did it with a bunch of rubber bands on my first and it could open the 3/8'' ball valve about 3 times faster than i could.

PS reply- i think you should show the cat how to shoot it.

the barrel is 1/2 inch tap riser and the valve is a half inch ball valve

Good stuff :)

Rather than bother trying to make a complex trigger for the ball valve, I suggest you get a sprinkler valve and mod it - much easier to do, and you'll get better performance.

But then he can't use hundreds of psi! :( High pressure is always more fun then a little extra performance.
