I would think that paintballs would be too fragile to be used in such a way.
Maybe those small blowdart paintballs.

I have super hard paintballs and I think with some carful padding added to the vortex block It could work. If not, than I will be another man to try!
I just wanted to get ideas

I've used the airsoft paintballs before, with about 3 breaks per hundred shots. A huge paintball vortex block would also require about 200 psi and a 1/2" ball valve for air input. I could make one, if you want one.

You actually need to fire that many paintballs a second? You'll waste huge amounts of moolah.
A short few second burst would probably cost you $10 or so. That's getting rid of money very fast.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

Considering you can't recycle paintballs and it's a bit rough on the ammunition I'd imagine it would be rather like a very expensive paint sprayer :P

In fact. Why not just make a water cannon and load it with paint.

What kind of ROF are we talking about here? How many rounds per second?

50 rounds per second? Jesus, what would you need that kind of ROF for?

1 paintball hurts depending on where you're hit. 2-3 in the same area hurt like a b@tch. But 50 hitting you in the same spot within 1 second. I just hope the person don't decide upon their selves to bludgen you with their gun after a punishing like that. I know I'd beat the crap out of anyone who did that to me.

It sure as hell sounds fun, but only if you're not on the receiving end of the gun.

I seriously doubt that with .68 paintballs you can get 50 rps, but with airsoft paintballs I get the normal (with my inline vortexes) 80-120 rps.

Is this for speedball or woodsball? Also, for a competitive edge make paintball grenades and build a launcher they can be fired from. When I play, its the grenades that make you win, and if you have launchers for the grenades you win faster.

Holy sh!t, what field do you play at? I gotta go there! $20 for 2000 paintballs? Are you freaking kidding me?!?! My field sells them for $80 for 2000. Luckily my team is sponsored so we get our paint from another shop for about $30 for 2000. We then bring the paint from there to the field (the field sponsors us too, so we don't have to pay the $80, which is outragous).
In conclusion... $20 for paint.. HOLY SH!T YOU'RE LUCKY!!

P.S. Good luck on this gun, I hope it works. If it does, it's be sweet.
